Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Introduction

Battle Lens is published by Mircules. We take your privacy seriously — not as a marketing line, but as a core principle. This policy explains what data we collect (nothing) and what we do with it (nothing).

Data We Collect

Battle Lens collects no personal data. The app ships with its entire historical dataset bundled on-device. It does not create an account, it does not ask for your email, and it does not record what you read. There is no server operated by Mircules that receives your usage. Anything you save inside the app — bookmarks, the last battle you viewed — stays on your device.

Network & Offline Use

Battle Lens is designed to be fully offline. The app does not make network requests to Mircules or to any third-party analytics provider for its core features. The world map may fetch tiles from Apple Maps when you use it; that request is made by iOS itself under Apple's privacy policy, not by us.

In-App Purchases

The one-time Battle Lens Pro purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment information is handled by Apple and is never seen by us. Battle Lens receives a receipt from Apple that indicates whether Pro is unlocked on this device — nothing more.

Analytics & Tracking

We do not use any analytics services. No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics. We do not track you. There is no analytics code in this app. None.

Crash Reporting

We rely on Apple's built-in crash reporting via Xcode Organizer. No third-party crash reporting SDKs are included in Battle Lens.

Location

If you use the "Nearby Battles" feature, Battle Lens asks iOS for your location. The location is used on-device to filter the bundled dataset — it is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can revoke this permission in iOS Settings at any time.

Content & Accuracy

The historical content in Battle Lens is AI-curated from publicly available sources including Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons. Each battle record carries a confidence and completeness rating. Battle Lens is intended as a reference and starting point — double-check anything that matters for your purposes.

Children's Privacy

Battle Lens is a historical reference app and is suitable for readers of all ages. The app does not collect any data from users, regardless of age. Some battle descriptions deal with serious subject matter (casualties, conflict) that younger readers may find intense — parental discretion is advised.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Bookmarks and local preferences stay on your device — deleting the app deletes them.

Changes

If we ever change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and note the change in the app's About screen. We don't anticipate major changes — our approach to privacy is fundamental to who we are.
